York Region Wedding: 3 Wedding Mistakes to Avoid

Her Wedding PlannerUnderstandably, your wedding will occupy your mind like water to a sponge. However, though getting a flawless one may be good goal, there are certain things that could ruin your ‘big day in York Region’ – not unlike floodwater. Knowing them ahead can be a lifesaver. Here are 3 toxic ones:

1. Taking in all of your friends as part of the bridal party the minute you said ‘yes’ to the marriage proposal. Whew! You got so blown and your heart beat like never before, you called all your best friends to be part of the entourage. No big deal. Until you get the numbers in.

Remember bridesmaid bouquets aren’t cheap. Buying each of your bosom buddy one can really add up.

Solution: Don’t let your emotions get the better of you. Hold your horses and start a plan before setting things in motion.

2. Choosing a backyard wedding. This could save you a lot, true. But if you look a little closer, expenses for this venue can also add up.

For starters, you will have to get extra tables and chairs. And how about the linens. Put a tag to it and multiply and you’ll see how things can add up. And lest we forget, you’ll need a tent as a shelter to a bad weather.(And extra lightings for the dance floor)

Solution: Put your options in black and white before you get your decisions in. Remember, a reception hall will give you chairs, tables and linens for free or you may have to get a good source without buying one.

3. Getting skimpy on food. Nothing hurts guests more than a portioned plate.

Work with your caterer early to find ways and means to get around your needs. There are other ways to cut on your wedding budget. Just don’t de-prioritize food.

If you want to really save, cutting your guest list might be a good idea. You may find your mother-in-law somewhat unpleasant, perhaps. Wait until you find her on a stomach that’s empty.
